This was a slightly better week for Tim since he had a week off from chemo. Three weeks on, one week off. He starts another chemo round the day after Thanksgiving.
Paul will be starting his chemo on December 1. Like Tim, it will be three weeks of chemo, then a week off. We couldn't manage to schedule our "off-chemo" . . .

We're still here, still struggling, still not liking where all this is going. Three weeks of chemo haven't been easy for Tim. He's felt pretty sick most of the time. At least this coming week he'll have a week off from chemo, so we're hoping he'll have a few good days before he has to start up again. Meanwhile, Paul . . .

Tim had his second chemo today. As it is for most chemo patients, the chemo has been a real struggle and as rough as they say. Still, the hope is that eventually the chemo will stop or shrink the cancer so that Tim starts having less pain and feeling a little better.

Tim will start chemo Wednesday morning October 28. We're still waiting to hear the final details (including whether he made it into the clinical trial).
Whether he's in the trial or not, they want Tim to start on chemo asap. It's hard to gear up for this, but we know it needs to happen soon since Tim has been feeling . . .

Well… Tim is almost there to qualify for the clinical trial. Now that his bilirubin level is finally within normal range, he has to go in tomorrow for one more round of routine/baseline lab tests to complete the process. Those tests were done previously and were all within acceptable ranges to qualify for the trial.

A two-hospital day! We first went off to Oakland Kaiser to have Tim's labs done. Then, we headed off to Richmond Kaiser for his surgery to install the port.
The surgery went well and Tim now has his port ready for chemo. It all went amazingly quickly and in a few hours, we were back home.
Late today, we got Tim's . . .
